The Ford F-150 continues to be the best selling pick-up truck in the world. One of the reasons for the F-150's popularity is its consistent refreshes and innovations by the automaker. For the 2021 model year, the F-150 has undergone some major enhancements and changes to make it even more impressive. Here is a look at how the 2020 and the 2021 Ford F-150 compare against each other.

Exterior

One the 2020 Ford F-150, you will find a large and commanding chrome-accented front grille that looks very bright. The 2021 F-150 has a blacked-out grille that gives this edition of the F-150 a more modernized appearance around St. Louis. Also, the front and rear bumper have been updated for the 2021 model year.

On the sides of the 2021 F-150, the badging has been replaced with side vents. This makes the 2021 F-150 look more like the current model Ford Super Duty trucks.

One of the biggest changes comes from the headlights and the taillights. The 2020 F-150 features more curved headlights while the 2021 model has more angular lights that create an L-shape accented lighting appearance for a more modernized style. The taillights on the 2021 Ford F-150 are also more angular to create a more striking appearance.

Looking at the body styles, the 2021 Ford F-150 now has sharper style lines than the 2020 model. This makes the 2021 model appear more modern versus the 2020 model.

Interior

On the 2020 Ford F-150, the truck has a standard 8-inch touchscreen. For the 2021 model year, the F-150 will get a refreshed 8-inch touchscreen plus an available 12-inch touchscreen. The 2021 edition of the F-150 will also gain an available 12-inch digital gauge cluster. Finally, the center console audio and climate controls have been repositioned and updated on the 2020 model.

For the 2021 model year, the inter of the Ford F-150 will also gain some unique cabin innovations such as an Interior Work Surface console desk, Pro Power Onboard electrical generator, and Max Recline front sleeper seats.

Powertrain

The 2020 Ford F-150 comes with several V-6, V-8, and diesel engine options. All of these powertrains carry over to the 2021 model year. However, the 2021 F-150 does gain a Powerboost hybrid powertrain that adds a 35-kW electric motor to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine.
